INAUGURAL PACIFIC AVIATION MEDICAL CONFERENCE

Tonga was amongst six (6) countries including Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Vanuatu with 75 participants who attended the Inaugural Pacific Aviation   Medical Conference. This conference was held in Nadi, Fiji from the 27 - 29th January 2023. Ovil Aviation Authority Fiji (CAAF), Civil Aviation Safety Authority Australia (CASA) and the Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ASAM) were the main sponsors of this conference.

This conference was mainly to cultivate and promote aerospace medicine and related sciences, to increase the awareness of the aerospace/aviation industry, government and the general public of the importance of aerospace medicine to flight safety, raise the importance for the Designated Medical Examiners (DME's) to conduct the medical assessment for pilots and ATC, and to conduct accordingly to the Act and Rules as well as to harmonize Aviation Medical Standards across the Pacific.

Mrs. Silioti Kata, Personnel Licensing Officer from Civil Aviation Division of the Ministry attended this conference for Tonga.
